The history of Partagas cigars is well documented and shows that it takes years of dedication to produce a cigar worthy of carrying the name. It must have been a
moment of immense pride and enjoyment when Habanos S.A. decided on this brand for such a release.
The cigar is a new vitola within the Habanos standard portfolio. Within the factories it is known as "Dignos" and measures 5 3/8" with a 50-ring gauge. Here in the U.K. we would call it a robusto.
The cigar has been dressed with a primary band and a foot band that features a golden coiled snake. Presented in an ornate red and gold lacquered cedar box that holds 18 cigars, a total of 18,888 boxes have been released.
Down to business and this cigar is a wonderful example of skill and dedication. Rich in flavour and perfectly balanced in strength, the leaf chosen has come from the Vuelta Abajo plantations in Pinar del Rio, a region well known for producing excellent cigars.
Showcasing opening notes of leather,
spice and aromatic cedar which give way to hints of espresso, nuts and dried fruit as you progress.
A memorable journey that shouldn't be rushed, in fact, it should be cherished.
